What beneficial changes
could you make in your life?
Our approach to hypnosis is results orientated. Hypnosis
and NLP can help you in many ways, for example; to stop
smoking, improve your negotiating and presentation skills,
handle stress and anxiety or overcome a phobia.
Is your best performance at work hindered by issues
such as anxiety and stress, or a lack of confidence?
Perhaps your sports performance during golf, riding
or tennis suffers too? Stress factors can also damage
your effectiveness in developing relationships in the
workplace, with important clients, and even friendships
outside of work.
Our approach is both confidential and effective in
helping you to bring about beneficial change.
About Hypnosis and NLP
Ericksonian hypnotherapy is a peaceful, safe process,
during which the person experiences a relaxed and pleasant
state of being.
Trance is a normal process. In our everyday lives,
we utilise a variety of trance states while we remain
awake, for example, when we are driving the car, or
on a long train journey. Trance may take us inwards
to a particular memory. It is during such a trance state,
that the therapist works with the person to gain agreement
with their unconscious mind. It is a pleasant experience
and the process can involve stories being told in metaphoric
ways. The object of this agreement is to facilitate
change in current patterns of thinking and behaviour,
and to suggest new ideas, and to gain agreement between
the conscious and unconscious mind.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming was developed by studying
and modelling the strategies of successful people, including
Milton Erickson, a doctor and psychiatrist, who understood
how language influences mental states.
How would you like to
be more successful?
NLP creates states that are useful in situations where
motivation and goals are sought, such as in business
and sports performance, It is also highly successful
in curing fears and phobias, which can limit a person’s
potential.
NLP shows us that people use patterns of speech, behaviours
and physical movement and tend to favour particular
senses. Which senses do you favour?
The therapist will use NLP to discover a client’s
lead sensory representation system, which may be expressed
in pictures, sounds, or feelings. Depending on the issues
involved and the desired result, the therapist and client
can make agreed changes.
Perhaps you would like to feel more confident when
dealing with a really important client, and the last
meeting has left unhappy pictures and feelings in your
mind? Changes may involve reducing the clarity of this
picture or even changing it to a positive and happy
one. In this way, you have altered the power of negative
feeling this picture has in your memory, and turned
it into a positive one that will give you more confidence.
Alternatively, changes may involve enhancing happy pictures,
sounds or feelings in memory, to give maximum control
over situations and create empowered states. An empowered
state may be ‘anchored’ for use when higher
levels of confidence or motivation are needed.
Sports Performance
We are happy to discuss individual issues in depth,
and the benefits to be obtained with hypnosis and NLP.
In respect of horseriding performance, Sara Howard will
travel to horse and rider partnerships. (Sara is also
an experienced, qualified rider and instructor and she
can therefore offer a sound, holistic approach).
Smoking Cessation
We take a realistic approach and tailor our hypnosis
to take account of the benefits you will receive when
you have ceased smoking. This includes coping with social
life and family as a non-smoker. We realise that while
your conscious mind may want you to stop, your unconscious
mind may believe that smoking has some added bonus for
you, like relaxation. Once you realise that hypnosis
offers a deeper method of relaxation than smoking, it
becomes easier to stop. It is a case of obtaining agreement
between your conscious and unconscious mind and establishing
a clear process for you that is harmonious to your needs
and in balance with your life.
What you will gain
Your session will include instruction in how to achieve
self-hypnosis which will enable you to set up states
to achieve positive outcomes in specific situations.
You will feel more enabled, at peace with yourself,
and more creative. Self-hypnosis can also be used for
power-napping states; business people with hectic travel
schedules find this a useful tool as it enables them
to feel refreshed for their coming meetings and negotiations.
Sports competitors find self-hypnosis useful in maintaining
calm nerves before the event.
The following are examples
of where hypnosis can be beneficial:
- Assertiveness skills
- Stress and anxiety
- Career transition
- Confidence and self esteem
- Motivation and concentration
- Presentations and public speaking
- Sports performance enhancement
- Smoking cessation
- Relationships
We
aim to help people to make beneficial changes in their
lives
